Booster box vs Elite Trainer Box vs booster bundle

The main types of sealed Pokemon TCG product and what usually comes inside each one.

Sealed Pokemon product comes in a few standard formats. Contents vary by set and by region, so always check the product itself, but these are the common patterns for modern English sets.

Booster box

A display box of booster packs from one set, usually 36 packs in English. Japanese boxes are smaller, often 30 packs, and some special sets come in boxes of 10. Booster boxes are the format most collectors keep sealed.

Elite Trainer Box (ETB)

A collector box with booster packs plus accessories: card sleeves, energy cards, dice, a condition marker and a storage box. Modern English ETBs usually hold 9 packs, and Pokemon Center versions add extra packs and a promo card.

Booster bundle

A small shrink-wrapped bundle of booster packs, usually 6, with no accessories.

Tins, collections and blisters

Tins and collection boxes pair a few packs with a promo card, a figure, a pin or other extras. Blisters hold one to three packs with a promo or a coin. Premium and ultra premium collections are the large gift versions.
